The Calculation Method

First, if you entered a volume, the tool converts it to mass using a density of 1.42 g/mL, a typical value for light and amber agave syrups. Second, it applies your sodium density in milligrams per 100 grams to find the sodium in your serving.

Sodium (mg) = (serving mass in grams ÷ 100) × sodium density (mg/100 g)
Daily Value (%) = sodium ÷ 2,300 mg × 100.

The 2,300 mg reference is the FDA Daily Value for sodium used on Nutrition Facts labels in the United States. If you are following a doctor-prescribed lower limit, use that number as your personal frame of reference instead.
